This week on Time with David, we bring you a documentary from Accra’s Black Wednesday – a day that claimed so many lives. The documentary takes us to parts of the city that were most affected in the presence of the Municipal Chief Executive and asks what can be done to avoid such a disaster from happening again.
David Ampofo speaks with Kofi Tsikata from the World Bank who expresses dismay at the situation on the ground.
“Just about six or so hours of heavy rains over two days and the whole place is flooded. Its not just flooded but also, millions of people are displaced and we have 150 people and more dying needlessly. It is very sad, we didn’t have to do this to ourselves.”
The Municipal Chief Executive of Ga Central, Aristo Aryee and Town Planner Kwadwo Yeboah also talk about what it will take to avoid such a disaster.
